A ball or globe valve is a valve commonly used to control the flow of pressurized fluid (liquid or gas). It is used when two opposite flow directions need to be interlocked. The ball flap is guided at its peripheral edge by an outer ring (peripheral guide ring), which has an outer groove corresponding to the flange position in each half.
In piping systems, valves are required to maintain closure and control of flow. Class 600 applies to single-phase systems using oil, coolant, and air as the medium. The valve is usually used to control the pressure or flow in the pipeline or between pipelines of similar pressure class. The ball valve is flexible and can be rotated to any position in the valve body, even under pressure. The sliding sleeve closes tightly by closing any area between the valve stem and the load port, preventing leakage, and providing a limited amount of adjustment to compensate for the wear of the gasket seat.
